The bar graph shows information pertaining to the Singapore Population.

(a) What do the horizontal and vertical axis of the bar graph represent?
(b) Give an appropriate title to the bar graph.
(c) If this is a 3-mark question, how would you describe the population of Singapore in the past 50 years?

    c) The population increased slowly from 1970 to 1980, but rapidly from 1980 to 2009.

  2. a) Horizontal represents the year or time while the horizontal axis represents the number of Singapore's population in thousands.
    b) Singapore's population in year 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2009.
    c) I would say that Singapore's population has increased in 50 years as there are no signs of decreases as shown in the graph from 2009 population.

  9. a) The horizontal axis of the graph represents the year which the data is collected in while the vertical axis of the graph represents the amount of people in that specific year which the data was collected.

    b) The Change in the Singapore Population between 1970-2009.

    c) The population of Singapore has increased steadily over the years from 1970-2009 and the population of Singapore taken every 10 years has increased more than the previous increase of the population except for the data collected in 2009.

    The increase from 1970 to 1980 is lesser than from 1990 to 2000 and 2000 to 2009.

  17. The horizontal axis represents the number of years and the vertical axis of the bar graph represents the number of population.

    (b) Singapore Population.

    (c) The Singapore population has been increasing since 1970 to 2009. The increase between 1970 and 1980, 1980 and 1990, 1990 and 2000, 2000 and 2009 are 268.5 thousands, 453.8 thousands, 537.5 thousands and 460.5 thousand respectively. There is the least increase in the number of Singapore population from 2000 to 2009 compared to the previous years.
