This term, we have earmarked 2 sub-topics for you to learn on your own... own time own target (to be completed by Term 1 Week 9).

**Chapter 9.2: Average Speed **

You are expected to complete sub-topic by 15 May 2010. A Pop-Quiz has been scheduled on 18 May 2010 (Tuesday).

**Chapter 9.3: Speed**

Apart from textbook and workbook, recommended resources and learning activities will be delivered through the AceLearning Portal and the Maths Blog.

**As these 2 sub-topics are not going to be covered in the class, please check/clarify with Ms Loh (Face-to-face or virtually) when you are in-doubt.**

This video clip, Statistics: Decisions Through Data shows how data (in the study of Statistics) has enabled mankind to make big and small decisions, that either impact the individuals or the bigger community.

Look out for the following segments:

- Describing Data

- Producing Data

- Conclusions from Data

*This video about...* There are more than 350 different commodities grown in California. In a state that provides approximately 15 percent of U.S. agricultural products, statistics are an important tool for agricultural economists to keep up with supply and demand. Let's hear how the statistics help farmers to make decisions!

Prezi only presents one line at a time. Hence it doesn't help to explain your solution.

ReplyDeleteTry to use the rectangular diagram to uncover all the parts and simplify from there.

One criteria: We want to HEAR how you describe the steps to explain the solution.

Try again and insert the clip in this same post.

Thanks.

Good idea of animation the solution but prezi only presents one line at a time and I cannot see how you arrived at your answer. :)

ReplyDelete-Christopher Nah S1-02

It could have been better if there coud be more colours and you could have explained through your voice .

ReplyDeleteNice Music and Graphic! However, the explanation of your solution is not that clear, try explain how and why you did it. Maybe you can use an keynote and export it as a video it would be better than compared to Prezi.

ReplyDelete- Jasper (13)

[S1-02]

It could be improved by projecting your voice out rather than using Prezi or any applications to explain the answer. I could not see any mathematical concept in it as you just solved the answer without explaining.

ReplyDeleteBenz Kew

S1-02

Better if explained through your voice and diagrams to explain it

ReplyDeleteNice way of explaining the questions using animation. But you should talk so it could have been better to explain.

Hi Guang Jun and Bryan,

ReplyDeleteYour video was nice but you can improve by adding some of your voices with explanation and the music at the end could be softer. Both of you could also add colours to highlight the main points but both of you did a great job.

Hi Guang Jun and Bryan,

ReplyDeleteYour video is nice and has good animation and audio but your explanation is not clear. Maybe you could have spent more time working on the explanation.

Rayner

S1-09

Hi!

ReplyDeleteNice video! The music is good and catchy, however, it would be better if you added in some verbal explanation. Like what Jia Sheng said, it would also help if u color code the different groups.

Lee YuChong 17

S1-09

You managed to get the correct answer. I think that you can improve by showing the question together with the answer. Both of you did a great job.

ReplyDeleteHello.

ReplyDeleteIt is a clear video, however, Prezi only shows one line at a time and the person viewing the video cannot refer to the previous line to check whether the calculation is correct. Some audio recording may also help the viewer understand better.

-Michelle Dapito S1-09

Hello :)

ReplyDeleteCool way of presentation but it can be improved if more detailed explanation is provided.

Stacey

S1-09

Hello!

ReplyDeleteGood animation and nice music. It would be much better if you explained further e.g have more lines of equations

-Benjamin Fheng 109

Pretty fine going through the steps of solving the problem but l agree with the presentation problems the first comment stated. Also, I think 6mn+6mn can just be 12mn.

ReplyDeleteVideo with good resolution, but could be improved by showing previous lines of the working to let us refer back. Also, there should be verbal or text to explain how you arrived at each step.

ReplyDelete~ Choi Min Suk

Hellos !

ReplyDeleteGood animation you got there but it can be improved by just adding in your own voice, or at least some one to speak so that we can hear and understand more clearly, but overall, gd work :)
